Lock Your PC Temporarily When Someone Enter Wrong Password

It also happen, when you are away from your PC and your friend try to log-in into your computer by guessing password. He/she got success after some tries but if there is a limit of tries then, after entering wrong password more than couple of times your system will get locked for 30 minutes (default setting). So, it is important to Lock PC temporarily when someone enter wrong password.

Let’s have a look how you lock your PC temporarily in Windows 7:

• First click on Start and type “Local Security policy” and press enter.

• From the left panel first expand “Account Policies” and select “Account Lockout Policy”.

• Then from the right panel double click on “Account Lockout Threshold”.

• A new window will open and give the value after how many invalid passwords attempts you want to lock your computer then click on apply button.

• After that a new window will open and telling your Account will locked down for 30 minutes (default setting). You can change the time by double clicking on “Reset Account Lockout Counter” according to your need and click on OK.
• Now your computer will be temporarily locked sometime as per your setting when someone enter wrong password.
